About Cielito Lindo
Cielito Lindo is an off-grid organic eco ranch, powered by solar, that offers accommodation, various workshops and activities, as well as a great event location. We are certified for responsible tourism for the biosphere by the secretary of tourism, our municipality and state.

The ranch is situated in the countryside just outside Dolores Hidalgo, about 40 km (25 miles) from San Miguel de Allende, 70 km (45 miles) from Guanajuato and 50 km (30 miles) from Pozos de Mineral. Next airport is the Aeropuerto Internacional de Guanajuato in Silao - Leon.

Experience off-grid living that isn't roughing it! Enjoy our organic gardens, many animals (farm and domestic) and learn about green construction and sustainable living. We can arrange classes while you are here or simply escape to our peaceful countryside for rest and relaxation and enjoy a view to live for away from the noise!

We are an NGO not for profit sustainable living education center, so we are happy to provide formal or informal instruction about off-grid living topics like solar power, rain catchment, water conservation, biodiversity, organic gardening and permaculture, straw bale building construction, animal husbandry and generally living on earth with a smaller carbon footprint.

Once here, all the grounds are open to you for exploration. Only two of our twelve acres are developed with our buildings, gardens and animals.
About the founders
Kerry & Brian
Kerry and Brian are a couple of old laid back organic farmers from Northern California and the Yukon Territory stuffing memories in while they still can. Both enjoy life and traveling.
Kerry is passionate about nature and natural resources for living. She has traveled to various parts of the world, e.g. Europe, India and Thailand.
In 2000, she settled in Mexico, where she made her dream come true, by creating a sustainable, ecological and touristic place. She is the owner of Cielito Lindo - Fundación Cielito Lindo, Centro de Educación Sustentable A.C.
Furthermore, Kerry is an excellent cook and she loves to bake. Her legendary bread is just yummy.

Brian, a former reporter, loves to stroll around and his camera is a constant companion.
Brian met Kerry during a vacation in a restaurant in San Miguel de Allende. The two fell in love and some time later Brian joined Kerry in Mexico. The two married in 2017.
​
At the moment, Cielito Lindo is mostly financed by the savings and the monthly pensions of the two. Of course, the earnings from the rentals of the cabañas and the palapa also flow into the development of the farm.
